MORABE Rural Music connects talent, creativity and community through music, ensuring every child has a chance to thrive

Breaking down barriers

We currently engage 350 children across three schools each week through our Schools Pathway, and reach over 600 people annually through our Community Pathway programmes and performances - from village halls to Snape Maltings.

  • 85% of pupils receiving individual lessons benefit from bursaries or scholarships.

  • 100% of applicants are provided with free instruments and ensemble places, with means-tested support ensuring every child can take part.

Excellence and aspiration

In 2024–25, our pupils achieved 9 distinctions and 10 merits in ABRSM exams, with several performing in (and one leading) a County String Ensemble.

The programme that MORABE has built over a number of years is, put simply, inspirational. It places music at the centre of a programme not solely of youth engagement but of community cohesion. The inspirational nature of this work is no better demonstrated than by former pupils who return to play alongside new learners.
